My turn to show a prom photo.I'd like you to meet my oldest grand-daughter,Lanie.This is her new prom gown,her mom ordered, online, & paid too much for.When it came in, I had to finish sewing the zipper,they didn't sew.There are so many good photos,it is hard for me to choose.I also wanted you to see the other girls gowns,fronts and backs.Look at this yellow/orange one.Oh,the last one,I forgot to add.She hurt her knee, playing for the state title, in girls softball, 2 weeks before prom.Hope you enjoyed the photo shoot!-Toogie

Beautiful young lady and a very beautiful gown. I love all the other gowns as well, but turquoise is one of my favourite colours. You also have a GD to be proud of.

Thanks,Jerri ,we all love our grands.Aren't the gowns so feminine looking? Other than their cruise photos in November,I don't think I have seen her in a dress,since she was about 6.At that age, she told me she had enough dresses,lol.When her mom sent me a text with the dress she ordered,I couldn't believe she wanted one.She has 3 brothers and played with them and the neighbors boys,so we said,she is kind of a tomboy.Had to be to survive-lol-This is a neighbors boy that went with her,he is in same class, they are just friends. He is the one,a few years back,they when she was playing football with the 6 boys,this one and her got into an arguement and she bloodied his nose! I told you she had to be tough.I think he had tackled her and she fell on a tree root.It had hurt her,but she came up swinging.It shocked me then,but it's funny now....May be why he's keeping his distance...lol
They are all beautiful. My GD bought her own dress and didn't go with all the ruffles as she wanted something that she could wear time and time again. She is a beautiful feminine tomboy...

What beautiful gowns these girls have, the likely all felt a bit like a princess in them. I too love that orange one though it would take a special coloring to pull that one off! I'm glad she went to the prom anyway bum knee or not. The setting is really very pretty and what a gorgeous day and even had the beautiful orchard as the backdrop for the photo's. They really could not have had a more picturesque backdrop.
The boys are lucky that it is just the girls dresses so colorful...remember the late 70's tuxedos? my husbands tux was baby blue (yeah my high school sweet heart) and just a day or 2 before the prom he fell off his skateboard and broke his wrist and the tux place had to slit the shirt and jacket sleeve so he could get the jacket on over the cast.
These photos and memories these kids have, will always be remembered and hopefully all fondly. You have a very lovely granddaughter Toogie.

Well, I am happy he went to the prom too and made you a fond memory.When I heard she had injured her knee and possibly had to have surgery,I thought of her up-coming prom.She is a tough little cookie,I'll admit.Thank you for your story.

I know what you mean about photos.I guess because we had to send the film off,and lack of funds(?), was the reason we never took photos much, back then.Now with everything tech,we have cds full.I too, like the frills,so girly.

Beautiful!! Girl & dress! Being from the south, I love all the frills & fluff. I'm so glad to see some girls are coming back to dresses that aren't all cut out here & there & I fear "something" is going to fall out for sure! Looks like a lot of the girls are "traditionally" dresses for the prom!

Your granddaughter is a real beauty and I can see you in her pretty face. Every one of these girls looks so elegant, feminine and well dressed. The boys are nice compliments. The dress skirts are like upside down flowers. (I could hide under one of them :P) Wish I were young and trim enough to wear one of these beauties...hm why stop with one???:PPPP This is why I hope someday to be able to digitize...I would use this skirt as a way to create a really beautiful flower, the ruffles would be the petals. I'm torn between the colors, I like the iridescence of pic #5 but I also love aqua of your gd. These are so much more classy, tasteful and feminine then the Hollywood types.
