I'm ready for the junk yard. Email account hacked. Went to change password and no clue what happened but the entire account is now locked up. I can't get into my contacts or saved things. Had to get a new address. OMG. After 12 years with the same one ............ I'm not sure I have all of my contacts back. And worst of all is the yahoo groups. I can't even log in there cause I forgot the password and the account that is now closed is the one they would send the message too. And trying to call is a joke. Serious thinking about a very large bourbon tonight.

If you have tried to log into your yahoo account with the wrong password 3 times, your account will lock for a while. Have that drink and try again tomorrow.

Didn't know that. Thanks. It's the same one I've been using. I have it saved on Firefox. And the bourbon does go down easy tonight.

It is amazing that we have so much of our life inside computers and internet. I am so sorry and I hope you get it figured out soon. In the meantime be careful with that bourbon because it can lead to a BIG headache. Ha ha

So many passwords! I keep mine on a locked document on my computer. The password to the document is hidden in the house in case I forget it. I also email the document to myself occasionally and back it up to an external drive too.

Just a little bourbon. I never drink a lot. I've written outlook and gotten nothing back. So upsetting. Any clues would be appreciated. I'm really about to scream. This has been going on for over 3 days now. My butt is even sore from all this sitting. My fingers from typing. Maybe a little bourbon tonight. Karen, if I start on ice cream I'm lost. Love that stuff. Don't eat it any more and actually lost a few pounds. Not many. Guess I'll have to join the yahoo groups again.

Do not attempt to log in anyplace for 24 hours. Every time you attempt again -- it adds time to the lock-out. Send a message to the provider. Most of the free email providers ask you to submit your phone number and/or another email address just in case this problem occurs. I do hope you did that at some point. Be as patient as you can be. If it is a major provider -- they have millions (possibly Billions) of users. It may take them a few days to reply.

I have tried to log in and would hit the wrong key and it will cause it to lock for at least 24 hours it is aggravating I know but you will have to wait.
