With the new look of Q&A (mainly for newcomers) - how I wish we could have a Q&A in Community. I am finding it all rather confusing now. Where do we ask if we are looking for a design for example?

If you only want a free design, ask in Freebies. They know all the best places there. If you don't mind paying for a design, ask in Embroidery.
If one of the specific sections in Community just does not match -- use Chat. Questions about changing needles and threads can go in Embroidery or sewing depending on the need. Questions about Embroidery machines should go in Embroidery. I hope this will all make sense soon enough.
Bonus, all the subjects here in Community can be sorted by topic. This should help everyone find what they need or want.

it seems another section would have been nice, as we all seemed to like the Q&A. but all our questions need to go in Chat now. I liked looking in Q&A because it gave answers to many things and information and links.
Hugs Pam.

It was supposed to be the "other" section all along. That is why it was not placed inside Community. It will be much easier to find answers and get help if we use Community the way it was intended. ** Plus, there is the ability to sort here in Community. That way you can find something to do with Embroidery much faster.

I don't think questions should go in "chat". That is for posts that are nothing to do with embroidery, sewing, digitising or crafting!

I think "Embroidery" is the right place for any embroidery related question. My most frequently visited sections are Embroidery and Digitising, followed by Sewing and Crafting.

You may find it helpful just looking at the posts that rescuer has done giving descriptions of the type of questions and where they should go. We will try to gently guide newcomers to the correct areas, however most newcomer questions are regarding this site so Q&A is perfect for them.

As rescuer says - ask in "embroidery".This is an Embroidery site, after all, and most days there are very few posts under that heading.
