Haven't been around lately...we farewelled my hubby's dad (91) yesterday after him having a stroke last week. Today it's been 5 months since his mum passed. We are sad but happy that they are both back together - it would have been their 70th wedding anniversary this August. The Dr said if he could write on his dad's death certificate that he died of a broken heart he would.

Thanks Chris. Yes lucky he didn't linger, he went to bed & just didn't wake up again. Hubby, two of his children & myself were actually there when Fil took his last breath.

My Fil was actually in care as dementia was setting in, but everyone noticed the change in him since my Mil passed.

So sad bu as you say they are together, . My prayer is that the Lord will let me live a little longer than my hubby so I can care for him to the end. . It hurts to lose both mom and dad but a consolation to know there will be no more pain nor sorrow for them/Lillian

My deepest sympathy's to your family in loosing both parents so close to each other. I hear this so often, when one passes, its not long before the other does. After that many years, its hard to live without each other.

Blessings on your entire family. Am sorry for your double loss. My friends celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this last Sept and he passed on Dec 28th, 2013. Be thankful they are together as they should be and not as lost, alone and scared as she is by herself.

Thank you Leaha. Yes it would be hard for your friend to be still here by herself after all the time married. I feel she would have family/friends around her but it's not quite the same.
