Hello dear friends! I'm so excited I had to share! Today we got a used 2005 Red Ford Explorer! We've been without a car since Maurice's accident on January 2nd. It's costing a bit more than I had hoped to spend and it isn't perfect but to us it is heaven! Now I won't have to interrupt my sons life as often, at least not for rides! lol What a huge relief to not have to depend on someone else when I need to go somewhere. Maurice returns to work next Monday so we really needed another vehicle anyway. Neither of us is looking forward to his return to work as we really enjoy each others' company and he likes being home as much as I like to have him home with me. If only we didn't need money! lol

Meri what brilliant news. I remember a earlier posting saying you had to ask for lifts, now you don't. Good luck to you and your husband

yes! The payments are bigger than I had hoped for but it is a dependable vehicle and shoulld carry us through another New York winter. Hopefully the next one won't be as harsh as the last one!

That is a relief! I have worried about you and kept you in my prayers.
That pesky money ruins a lot of fun!

Oh Rescuer, you just made my day! This was a very long winter for us and without you, my dear Cute sisters and brother, to keep me going, surely I'd have gone mad! I do believe everyone's prayers have been heard. We went to apply for the car loan but we had no idea where we'd get the down payment. The very next day, a check arrived from Maurice's insurance company with almost the exact amount we needed. I know it was not luck and my Mom always said the Lord works in mysterious ways, so He came through for us just as we needed. One of His "little" miracles!

Thanks! I'm smiling too! I keep looking out in the driveway and it seems odd to see a vehicle there!

Brilliant news Meri and I do hope that Maurice isn't too unhappy being back at work. So glad you had your family to help out in the interim. Love Chris

Thanks so much! Yes, it seems my son, Barett ( my second oldest) turned out to be quite a wonderful man! He has never complained once about driving us anywhere. The best thing is though that I got to spend time with him alone and we talk about all kinds of things. I'm impressed with the man my son is and such a doting son! We actually got closer because of all this. I am very blessed.
