Have another new artist on board......I will do a series of these, I am calling them "Melancholy BAby" as that is what their expression says to me.....I plan on doing a 5x7 in colorwash and a 4x4 in blackwork......these will be up tonight on my website, under Exclusives button.......

Like this design, but need an education here please...what is colorwash in embroidery mean? Is it the colored parts that look as if washed in hot water and they shrunk away from the outline? Is this all still machine embroidery or is it where they color using crayons or pencils? TIA :-/

It's like an artist who waters down their paint and puts just enough color on to show up,That's what I think it is. Maybe others have a different explanation. But I like your version better than mine

I call it watercolor because the color is "watered down" meaning not a full fill...if you look at the colored one closely you will see it not only has a light fill, it also does not fill the outline area.....I like the look and it appears others do too.......
