how about using it as the base to put another on top of it. Or you could tie a French knot in it to stay? They are a fun bunch would make fun flowers with rick rack stems too?

I googled one hole buttons and they do make them but I could not find out how to sew them on. Would a shank button fit through the hole or maybe use a small bead in the center to sew through. Very pretty anyway. Hugs and blessings, Barba

They are the base for another shank button, usually metal. You actually sew the shanked button on with the one hole button under it, thus the shanked button holds it on.

I'm sure you will find a way to use them. You have a pretty assortment for sure. Maybe use them for eyes on animals or on a hanging with something that needs eyes...OH, what about an owl?

I have seen people use a bead or layer other buttons on top if the hole is too large layer a sequin then the smaller bead. Lots of room for creativity when figuring out how to use them. Have fun! I Love buttons! Hope you figure out some fun ways to use them, Enjoy!

not rejects my friend just not complete. they would have had a bead or shape that had a shank on them that fitted through the hole. Now all you need to do is find a nice bead and use dental floss and sew the two together onto the fabric. the dental floss is very strong and willhold them together .
you can actually see an egsample of what i mean in the second photo on the far left. a large button that has a border showing . Look through the buttons and see if any have a metal shank on them, then see iif they will fit into the one holed buttons, If they do then you have a match.

Or they would have had a plastic dome shape, with or without a shank, over which you would stretch fabric to make a 'covered' button to match the garment you are going to use them on.
Older covered buttons were often made like the one below and before there were man made shanks they probably stitched the gathered fabric directly onto the garment??????
