I'm so sad and upset today on the loss of lives in the Malaysian Airline that has been shot down. So many countries have lost their sons and daughters. The repercussions around the world has been very strong and the shock, anger and horror of this attack will be with us for a long time. Every TV station here in Australia is showing the effects of that crash and my heart goes out to all families concerned. There are many on this forum from the countries who have citizens on that plane. Love Chris

There was so much sadness in the news this evening - it was very difficult to watch. I pray for all of the families of the many innocent people killed. There is no way to rationalize it!! Hugs, Laura*

It's such a dreadful situation Laura and the heartache, the death of such innocent lives has touched so many lives. The instant social media coverage these days is actually causing more distress than we need. We have to wait for the correct agencies to get into the site and salvage everything - I've seen people removing pieces of the debris and everything should be left in its place. Love Chris

There is so much evil in this world. More than most of us can begin to imagine. Things like this should push each one of us to appreciate the ones we have that we love and to do our very best every day to make our little corner of the world a better place.

The whole situation is undeniably shocking. I had not heard, too busy to watch the news, not sure I want to. The world is a whole lot smaller now.

Very sad indeed. I worry so much about what is going to happen down the road. The young kids of today playing these violent games, scares me. All they see is violence and aren't interested in good old Disney anymore. They have to be killing people or blowing up things, in these games or they loose interest. Scary times.

300 people lost their lives, 189 of them Dutch. It is a day of mourning today here. But the repercussions are even more worrying.

So true Martine, it's inconceivable that a passenger plane full of fun loving tourists has just been obliterated. I hope the people responsible own up and are prosecuted. Love Chris

The strong, peaceful countries cannot remain silent. They have to stand up to the bullies, to avoid an all out war.

It is an horrific act and a great loss to many lives, the shame of it all is it's over some land and who should run it. I wish they would all grow-up, put away their guns ect. and talk to each other like the Adults their supposed to be.

Mans inhumanity to man is appalling. Ones thoughts are with the many families, friends and colleagues who are directly affected. Plus as Martine has said the possibility of repercussions

I sit here and say I want our president to do something but on the other hand I don't want any more of our sons and daughters caught up in a fight we can't win, so what do we do? I know our military leaders would know if given a chance but we won't be able to do anything for the next 2 years and who knows where we will be by that time. All we can do now is pray that it won't get any worse there or in Israel. Hugs mumzyfarm

There are lots of things our country could do that do not involve actual war. It will take many countries working together to stop this.

I too have heart ache over all this chris. So many have a heavy heart over all these, I've not yet gotten over the missing Malaysian Plane that was never found and now this. What can we do ? Simply pray is all I know. I have to keep telling myself that come what may God is in control. There will be repercussions I am sure felt all over this planet, there already is. I ask myself, what will tomorrow hold for all our young ones growing up. Oh but if there could be peace between us all/Lillian
