Thought you guys would like to see some of the chaos around my house the past couple of days. Sun n law decided the deck needed to be replaced around the pool out back. The hottest days of the summer, pool has been busy with Greats and Grands and all their friends, now no one swims 'till all the work is done which is going to take a couple more weeks since no one will be off work 'till the weekends. I am grateful though because there is no one to keep things in ship shape anymore since Ron is unable to do anything. I have 2 son n laws working on replacing all the decking, 2 daughters and a Grand daughter and her hubby. Everything is piled everywhere, all pool furniture, pots, gazebo is taken up till everything is finished. this time he's using the stuff that never has to be painted or stained I call it artificial wood. suppose to be warranted for 25 yrs. You will see 2 son n laws and youngest daughter in some of the pics./Lillian

I think being the hottest days of the year, I would have to have a temporary walkway, just to get in and out! Great Place you have!

Grand daughter got out there shoving things around and next thing I knew she was in the pool with Caleb and Abby even though it was almost dark. LOL if she can figure a way to get in the water she will. She and her brother grew up in the pool, It's 20 yrs old.

Beautiful pool. You won't be sorry they are using artificial wood for the new deck. We built a deck about 3 years ago using the same thing. We did it because there is less upkeep. We are not able to clean and do all the maintenance that the wood requires. The one bad thing about it is that it so hot on your feet. Enjoy your pool and new deck. Joyce

Thanks Joyce We are in the same boat around here, unable to do what we use to. I wondered as I was watching yesterday how hot it would get to your feet. The kids will learn to keep their flops on 'till they jump in./Lillian

Thanks Sarah, put it in 20 yrs. ago when I was working . Last yr. I told the kids "it belongs to you now, you are going to have to keep it up and they do" Ron won't get in at all now but believe it would help him if he would. He would have to have help getting in and out so won't even try it. I laughed when my grand daughter said "well 25 yrs from now I guess Caleb will be redoing all this. He's only 6 yrs old now.. It has been enjoyed by so many children who now have children of their own and have moved away. I miss all that/Lillian

How wonderful Lillian you have family so close-by to help you out. Looking after a pool is no mean feat and I know you will really appreciate the new decking. We used to have one at our home in Valentine and Trev was at it every weekend, but we don't have one here. We are only a 5 minute drive from the beach now anyway so we use that more. Love Chris

I love the ocean Chris. Haven't seen it in over 3 yrs now. Just haven't been able to make the trip although it's less than 6 hrs. away. Yes the pool has always been a lot of work for me but I enjoyed it , enjoyed all the kids and their friends and the parties we have had around it. Use to the church would have ice cream get togethers with quite a few freezers running at the same time out there. It's been a gathering place for a long time, now not so much. Lillian

Your place is so nice. I am like your granddaughter around water, I love it. My pool is not as nice as yours, but we have not used it in 2 years. He (hubby) never swam and I did all the up-keep. Not able anymore, and like you, they didn't come as often, so I felt it wasn't worth the expense...Nice place to relax.

Where did you say your son in law lives? I need one like that. :) Both my front and back porches have to be replaced this year or someone is going to fall through, and that won't be pretty. I'm trying to get my place fixed up to sell.
Your pool looks really inviting, and your yard is beautiful!

How beautiful and so good that all your children and grandchildren are close to you. You earn the fruits of a lifetime and you'll continue having good times enjoying this precious family! Of course, I would love to have such a backyard and pool but this w ould not be affordable in Germany where land is sooo expensive. Hugs Maria
