Herewith photos of a Deacon's stole that I made. It is reversible and has embroidered designs on each of the four ends (two on green and two on purple). The design on the purple is from Emb Library and the design on the green is an outline map of Africa with a cross in the middle. This latter design is a composition of other designs at hand.

The embroidering was an undertaking on its own, while the construction of the stole - being curved - and the fact that it was reversible, was a challenge on its own. I have included a photo of Deacon Tony wearing the stole so that you can get a better idea.
Thank you for viewing. Patricia

Thank you. I have contemplated your attribute of 'clever'; I would say, perhaps, rather - dedicated and hard-working. Ecclesiastical garments need to be very precise. A true labour of love. Patricia

Beautiful work.
I made a full set of stoles five years ago and know how much work is involved. Mine are worn differently so the placement of the embroidery is different - see link - but whatever the shape it needs time and accuracy to get them right.
You did a wonderful job!

Hi Martine, ' Praise from Caesar is high praise indeed'! I sincerely appreciate your comments. Yes, you are so right: 'it needs time and accuracy to get them right'. A labour of love indeed. And hard-work!!

I have viewed your stole as referred to above (are there more elsewhere?). A mammoth undertaking and in your own case, you also did the designing and digitizing. The grape design is so significant for ecclesiastical vestments, and having been embroidered in metalic thread, further enhances to the beauty thereof.

You referred to the shape of the stole: our Priests wear the stoles that go around the neck and then hang down the front of the body. (Like the one you have made,) Deacons, however, have their stoles draped over one shoulder and coming together and fastened at the hip (re. my photo).
Best wishes Martine, and thank you for all that you do, tirelessly, for others. Be blessed. Patricia
