ok, my Cute friends! Can you help me decide if this fabric will make good borders around the 20 melancholy Babies blackwork squares? I am making a quilt to donate to our lakes auction. This fabric is not one I would normally use for a border, but I love the fabric. Its whimsical. I would usually go the "safe" route and use a more solid. Does this look ok? Honest opinions appreciated! :) Thanks everybody!

I would absolutely use it. Just remember when you start cutting for top, bottom and sides that the design is all going in one direction.

LOL, no, don't tell me that has happened to you!!!?? :) I thought of that too, but one row of birds is one way, the next row is the other. I think (hope?) it will look ok.

I think they look cute together too, lots of cuteness going on. Nice bright colors of the birds with the black and white on both patterns.

I kinda thought the same, about the colors. There is also a touch of red in some of the little girl squares, and the birds also have a touch of red.

Oh, definitely a good fit!!! They are the same style with the outlines and the birds bring a nice color into the blackwork.......this quilt should bring some good money in as it is going to be awesome!

Thanks everybody! I have my strips cut, half of them sewn on. I love it!!! I would have gone with something different, if everybody had not said this was a good one... the Cuties came thru with help again!! :)
