Happy Birthday to Nora, her first! I told you she loves pinwheels! Fun for 'kids' of all ages! Cake icing was melting, it was so hot, look at Nora's cheeks. Has anyone ever made these roll-up pinwheels to eat, out of jello and marshmellows? They are great! I never would have thought she would have paid any attention to her quilt, so you don't have to ask if she liked the quilt, just look! I know there are too many photos, but it was hard to choose-lol-Thanks for looking and sharing her first birthday with me-Toogie EDITED- For those interested in the refreshments. Go to this link for the jello pinwheels and put that in the search box. They really are good!!!! the blue drink is blue colored Hawaiian Punch, mixed berries flavor, with 1 can of condensed milk (rich. The hawaiian punch is a large jug, about a gallon size she thinks.) That's it and so good. Let me know if you make any and if you like them as well as we did.-Toogie ps. my 'new' grand-daughter found a video on U Tube showing just how to make these pinwheels. He cuts them an inch thick and I don't think these were quite that thick, because if you do them in a 8x8 sq pan you won't get but 8. I am not sure, but you might try a little narrower.

How absolutely priceless these photos are! Never too many, it just gives the feeling of being there! I love them all and it appears she knew grammy made her a quilt as well as a little duck...did she find the squeaker? Adorable! Her day was truly special and such memories for all of you! Hugs.

I think mom found the squeaker first and now Nora is wondering where it is. She probally slept really well, last night. I am sure she was worn out from all the excitement. Thanks for looking and being so sweet about all the photos. ( I always get the 'privilege' of being the photographer, because I like pictures. I took 260 something !)-lol- Of couse the photographer at Avery's 1st birthday took over 500!!!! Thank God for giving the fellow the knowledge to come out with digital!

Toogie, It looks like a great day for her. In the pic where she is clapping her hands, she looks like a china bisque DOLL. Just think, you will have a series of Nora-growing-up pictures with that quilt sleeping and dragging through them all! Such fun. Happy for you.

She really knows how to show she cares! Sometimes I think," God you have given Nora so much wisdom, to be so young, and I thank you". She really does seem to understand well for her age, seriously, not just the Gram talking.- In the photo you are speaking of, the bracelet was a give from her mom and dad. She must be letting them know how she appreciates it. (Her mom, my daughter L-O-V-E-S jewelry, of all kinds, so Nora may be like her mom.) Thank you-Toogie

What a great day, Nora looks so contented hugging her duck and a quick lay down on her quilt, love how they had the water pool for the bubbies and a larger one for the big kids including the dads.. Please Recipe for the Roll-ups we all want to know..

I will have to get back to you and others with the recipe, it wasn't mine... Nora wasn't the only one having a good time. As you saw, the young parents did as well. And since we older parents needed cooling off, one of the 3 year old boys, refreshed his g-pa with a water balloon!-haha

Thank you, wasn't sure to add it here, because it is so close.... Her other g-parents gave her the wagon she is in. I had some photos of her and her cousin, about the same age, with a water balloon. They had a hard time holding on to it and everytime they dropped it, they bumped heads bending over to pick it up. Thanks for looking.

Thank you,ty,ty-lol- I showed her mom the banner, before the big day, and she was happy as she had an idea to use it on her high chair. Nora did love it all but I bet she went to sleep fast, afterwards!..The pinwheels were colorful and tastey, the grownups liked them too, even me.This was their first time making them and they turned out so well. Thanks for looking-T

Thank you for sharing it with me as well. I see hubby is home and I hope he heals soon.Such trials you both have had...Karen, Nora seems to be perfect in all ways. Sometimes I think," God you have given Nora so much wisdom, to be so young, and I thank you". She really does seem to understand well for her age, seriously, not just the Gram talking.

thanks so very much! I can't wait to try them. I have made jello by adding only the hot water, to this add a container of frozen whip topping wonder how that would work for pinwheels. thanks again. Cheri

by toogie 29 Jul 2014
I've never made jello with cool whip, but it sounds good. The pinwheels I believe would almost have to have the marshmellows to be able to roll them up. I don't think the cool whip would get firm enough to handle. IDK-Toogie
