this is my NON-Applique cloud lol It was a dbc design sorry I don't remember who did it but it is lovely! Do you think it looks ok even though I did it like this & not like a traditional applique? There will be a few more filled designs added to this & I may add another cloud but wanted to check first

I think that this looks as good as a conventional applique. But this will be a question, which applique you use and how the design matches with the fabric.

It looks great and yes, applique designs can be used without adding fabric - unless there are connection stitches hidden behind it. I used to do that now and again, but stopped doing that so the design could be used as a regular design too.

I think it is Cute either way, I have done several this way, cause I am not eager to do applique, and there are some really great designs out there!!! ( Arthritic fingers won't cut as close as needs to be, and they hurt!!!) Hahaha! Hugs, Judy

PS. Love it!!!

It does look great like it is! I love fabric for applique but sometimes it' a lot more extra work and these turn out cute either way.

Very cute! Is it done on burlap? I have been playing with some designs on burlap with appliqued blackboard fabric as plant markers or whatever. You can write on it with liquid chalk.
