Husband friend wife asked me to embroider her shower curtain with birds and flowers. All the designs are from emblibrary. She gave me $ 20.00 for job well done.

Very nicely done and agree-she did get a good deal-Embroidery Library designs do use a lot of thread. Hopefully you are lucky enough to have a multi-needle machine too, because there are a lot of thread color changes in these designs-I just did a blossoms and bluebirds design up last night on a bag and had to change thread 22 times-I only have a single needle Janome. I love their designs though and I love the way this curtain came out. ~linda~

there are design that u have to change the thread 40 times and I'm just using single needle, the whole project is more than 400,000 stitches. thank you for the compliment.

WOWZER!! Love this. Even if the EmbLibrary designs you used were somehow 14 for $14.14 or on sale for one of their deals, that's a LOOOOOT of thread! EmbLibrary designs are beautiful and it's my fav site, but they're also very very dense with thousands and thousands and thousands of stitches PER design. $50 for you, sillygoose! :-)

Beautiful Job. Gosh all the hours of work you put into this project. The planning and lay out alone would have been a few hours. Sure hope she appreciates the time and effort you put into this project. I have done things myself for people and know I should have been paid more but I am happy with what I got (especially if I really like the person) I just tell myself I have covered the cost of the designs so I am ahead.

Wow. That is beautiful! You did a great job. However, maybe next time you should let the person know the number of color changes & stitch count & maybe suggest a price more than $20? But, you are right, it did help pay for some of your files, etc.

I would stand in line to get the DEAL for $20 & I know it cost you more then that perhaps she didn't understand what it cost you? The time it took & the threads needles hydro everything counts. I have learned that you must charge by the 1000 stitches. I have seen this price form $1.25 to $2.25 just for the first 1000 stitches! You did a fantastic job on this! ~hugs & kudos to you & your big kind heart!~

I'm just happy to give it to her, now my problem she wants me to embroidered a king size quilt and I don't know how can I say no. that's my big problem now.
How about suggest that she get a machine and you would be willing to give her lessons, but a king sized quilt would be too much for you to do. I have the same problem; difficulty saying "no".

$20.00? Did she forget to move the decimal point to the right? That lady does not have any respect for your work. A good bottle of wine,a bouquet of flowers and a thank you note would be better than $20.00.

I've been thinking about your concern about this friends next request. Try inviting her over to show her how the design stitches out. Perhaps she will understand how much work it is before settling on her request for a king sized blanket. I hope that you don't feel like she is taking advantage of you!
