Cuties, we could sure use a few prayers...again. My husband's fevers have been coming back. They are so debilitating for him (and me ). In the last three months he has had 3 episodes each lasting about 4 days. We are now on the 5th day of one. We are up most of the night...trying to get the fever down , and then changing sheets etc. when it breaks. The doctors will do some more tests in October, but say that they can do nothing at this time as the many , many tests that he has had keep coming back negative and show nothing wrong!

We were told not to come back unless we can't manage with the Tylenol and Advil. We manage, but it is draining us both. If we go to emergency we wait for several hours and by then the event will have passed (in much less comfortable circumstances, I might add ).
I keep praying that things will get better...
Thanks for letting me vent.
Hugs, Nadyne

My husband had something like that, with fevers .In the hospital they injection of a radioactive material ,and then a CAT scan and radioactive material whet right to the infection. He had a grapefruit sized mass on his intestines, it was diverticulitis. He had 12 inches of his colon removed and hasn't had any problems since. Good Luck

They actually did this with a PET scan. They used radioactive grains and it produced a 3D image. They said they found nothing. Thanks for this though. I'm glad that your husband is fine now.

Nadyne, I think what you need is an endocrinologist, he would know what tests needed to be run to get to the bottom of this. An elevated temp is the body's way of letting us know there is something wrong somewhere in the body. What you are telling us is somewhat like my dad use to be, He was finally diagnosed with Malaria. I will be praying

They have actually done tests for malaria and several other diseases, bug bites etc., as well as PT scans and tests for cancer, tumors, heart troubles....oh, and also saw a hematologist. We are at our wits end actually. When we do see the specialist in October I will ask about this though. Thanks for your concern and prayers.

Nadyne, I'm sorry that this is still going on. Don't give up trying to find out what is wrong. Keep trying different doctors. He's not running fevers like this for nothing.
Vent anytime you want to. We are here for you. I'm praying and know that an answer will come.

As I said to mumzyfarm, there is nowhere else we can go without a referral. One of the problems also is that they want to see you when "an event" occurs. Hard to do that when you don't know when it will, and when it does, how does one travel to destinations 4 -8 hours away at the same time and then try to see someone without an appointment....or a referral??

Usually a fever is a sign of infection and any doctor that doesn't try to find out what is causing the fever shouldn't be a doctor. Go to another Dr and tell them you know that a fever is a sign of infection and try to get them to find out what is causing it. Hugs Virdean I am praying for both of you sometimes you have to be stern with doctors.

We have seen 4 different doctors (3 specialists and one gp )
There is nowhere else to go without a referral.
I am thinking homeopathic next...

Oh Nadyne I am so sad to read this. It is the not knowing what causes it, that is so frustrating. It really seems strange that they will not check into it further. My prayers are with you and your husband

Wow! I would go to a DO/chiropractor/or acupuncturist who uses kinesiology to assist in diagnoses. I know it is homeopathic and all, however you have nothing to lose and pinpointing the cause may be possible through these means.

This is worth consideration. My husband is so fed up with doctors at this point that it maybe a little difficult. I am going to try though. Thanks.
