8-11-14 Actor Comedian Robin Williams has died, per CNN. I will always remember his wonderful work, from Mork and Mindy, to Good Will Hunting, to Dead Poets Society and others. Also, that he was always a fabulous interview, bulgiing intelligence and humor and joy. Sad loss for all of us.

It has been mentioned on the midnight news in the UK. Yes sad news indeed and sounds like he was a troubled man

Very sad with a weird twist in my family: he is my husband's doppelganger. So we have a strange attachment with him and his career. We are surprised and saddened by the loss.

Now that would be a little unsettling, like loosing your twin that you never met. Hugs..Carol

I am not sure what the word doppelganger means. Does that mean they looked alike?
by juanitadenney 12 Aug 2014
I also never heard of a doppelganger. What is a doppelganger?

It is a German word for a double, a look a like. In ole folklore it could mean made luck if you saw your double.

Yes, they look very similar. Of course Robin Williams was older than my DH and depending on weight the similarities differed a bit. When my youngest was small and we were at a video store she saw a movie with Robin Williams' picture on and said. "Daddy." When my DH travelled overseas people mentioned a lot!

I saw this a few hours ago on the news and was in shock. I can not believe he committed suicide. I watched Monk and Mindy every week with my girls. So sad for all, his family and loyal fans....Hugs...Carol

The only thing that I have heard was he was suffering with major depression. I liked him early on in his career and then I thought a silly period and then I respected his ability to pull off major complex rolls and liked him again. He will be missed. Kay

Sorry to hear about Robin Williams death. Maybe it's my age
(little past 70) but I never did care for his acting. May have been just an act he did for comedy but I personally didn't think he was funny.

I have to agree he was a good actor and had some good movies I just didn't care for his sense of humor. Juanita

I loved everything I saw him in, TV shows and movies. He always looked like he was enjoying life, but we never saw or heard what was in his brain. Very shocking and very sad
