Had a prolific weekend with the girls here! Amy said Ophelie wanted a sleep over and as Steve was studying they came here! I was sewing Yoriko's money angels for my ladies luncheon and have done 7 - only one to go. I must say they sew out beautifully. I only had one needle break and that was because the thread got caught up at the back of the thread stand and the needle just gave way! You can see I had both machines going and Ophelie is holding up my Secret sister Christmas gift from last year an angel with the date on it. In her other hand she is holding up a large needle!

Anyway, I'm happy to say they've turned out great. My theme this year is Blue, Silver and White and the designs are actually Snowflakes, but after I saw Carolyn's lovely Money Angels, I knew I had to make them for my friends. Thanks Carolyn for the impetus to do these. Love and blessings Chris

1. Ophelie showing me the needle and last year's gift.
2. Close up of her lovely eyes!
3. The seven money angels so far - each blue and silver design is the same opposite each other. I've got another white one to make yet.

When you stitched these, what thread did you use in the bobbin?

by pennifold 18 Aug 2014
Hi Dino, I used the same thread as what was on the top. I didn't use bobbin thread. Love Chris

These threads were Brother threads except for the Silver one which is Kingstar. It sewed out without a hitch!

Great Angels Chris!! I thought that a nice verse or poem could be place in them instead of money that way friends could enjoy the too.. Ophelie looks lovely and warm in her pj's..

Hi Marian, yes, someone else suggested that on Carolyn's post of her Angels. I'm going to do that. And yes Ophelie was warm - that time on the clock is actually on daylight savings time. It was actually 7.33am - we didn't get much of a sleep-in! Love Chris

Hi Caroline, I hope Ophelie does take on sewing. It's not as popular over here in Australia, but our generation are doing our best with guilds etc. to instil more interest. Love Chris

How cute is she! What a little delight to have around when your busy in the sewing room! My nieces LOVE to go through all my trinket things in my craft room and unfold and fold fabric a thousand times over. It would be great if more young ones took up the hobby. I am in a group of 6 and we meet once a month rotating at each others houses and i am the youngest by 26 years! The eldest is nearly 70! But i do love how they 'mother' me!!! and i love helping them load and unload their machines and bags when we arrive. Its such a lovely hobby for sure. I hope your little one gets into it as she grows! X
