this is sad news for Us Canadians & Americans sigh.......The Almanac has reported that our upcoming winter is going to be colder then the one that we just had! I don't know about you but I still remember the last one & it was terribly cold & LONG! I am so not ready to have to deal with another worse then last year! Do you like the cold? I bet there are a lot of babies born next summer

NOOOOOOO!!!! Not only was it horribly long and cold - my heating costs skyrocketed due to the propane "shortage". $750 for 150 gallons or 2 weeks worth of heating. I sure hope they are wrong!

I read that also and am already dreading it. Fall is already in the air here even though it's very hot. Leaves are falling everywhere. /Lillian AKAlbrow

I know isn't that just the saddest thing to see the leaves falling so early! It makes me sad!

My leaves are falling from heat exhaustion. Also losing a lot of pine needles (early) this week, due to not much rain and 103 degrees.

The Almanac is almost always right, I do not like the cold that's why I live in Texas, no snow, icy conditions now and then and a lot of cold, cold wind but none of the wet stuff.

well maybe we could trade just from Dec to say then end of March! You could come here & stay @ my house & I could go there & stay @ yours! That sounds like a great idea to me LOL

I read that as well. I just wish we would be getting more snow this year. Our lakes and reservoirs are so low now -- it is sad!.

No I'm afraid I don't think that they ever have been wrong do you? My memory is not what it once was but I could have forgotten & maybe they were wrong before?

Just stock up on threads, fabric, stabilizers, patterns, everything you need to sew and craft the winter away. Don't forget the snacks. Come spring you will have a pile of new projects

I have not heard that about winter, but here in Texas they are talking about a wetter than average Autumn, even to the point of breaking the terrible drought we have been in for several years. I don't believe that will happen but we can hope and pray! Hugs.

I agree. Sigh! We saw the leaves already starting to turn up in southern New England. I wouldn't be surprised if we get snow and/or ice here in Florida again.

Sure hope The Almanac is wrong. Last winter we had to call friends to plow the driveway, just so we could get the car out. Moving south is starting to sound like a great idea!

I hope it does not get cold right away. We are having more daily thunderstorms! These would make terrible snow storms for sure!

Love the cold. Living in South Carolina I loved seeing the snow and ice (I'm sorry but I did ) glistening off the trees. granted it was a huge problem for so many but I had candles and water so it was ok for me.
