Apron and backpack for mother and daughter

I made the apron with two coordinating fabrics and added the last name House for the mother.

I bought the backpack for 3 dollars at a mom-to-mom sale. It was new and I figured it'll be a nice blank for embroidery. Added the initials for the daughter.

I got a lot of hand-me-down clothes and shoes from the mother, who I never met in person (she's a friend of my friend), and I made these as a thank-you gift.
