Here is my pretty girl, still in her PJs. I like to stay in my gown too, when I don't have to work.-Someone just asked about Avery, in a pm to me. I said she is doing well. Usually the winters are rough on her, because she has chronic pneumonias. Well school started about 2 weeks ago, and Avery has missed 5 days. She is congested, so the breathing treatments have started early this year. I am so thankful that a doctor finally listened and ordered her a suction pump, to which insurance approved. It helps her every time she coughs and she has kept me running-good! My daughter told me when Avery went to the Dr this time, they discussed trying to get help, to have a sitter hopefully an LPN come in the home during the day, while they are at work. Avery catches everything at school, but she so enjoys being with the other children. I know she would miss that. It would probally just be 3 days a week, as my SIL is off 2 days, during the week. We will see. She seems to feel okay, been giggling today, but she still has a rattle in her breathing. Maybe tomorrow she will feel like sewing-lol-Toogie

She looks adorable Toogie & it is very nice to hear that the insurance has approved the suction pump it will help & it would be great if your family was able to get some much needed aid. I will say an extra prayer that her rattle disappears quickly. PS Love her PJ'S too!~hugs~

Papa brought a clean bib to me and just happened he matched her PJ's. Having someone come in would help the parents, from some of the running, loading chair, etc., but I also know they are thinking of me and my husband. We both have back problems and she is a load, even tho she is underweight. She will be 9, new years eve! I just can't believe how time has flown.

Time flies when you're having fun, and I believe you do have fun with this special grand.

I do hope that having the suction pump will reduce her breathing difficulties Toogie. That is so great that the doctor organised the delivery of this machine. I hope it will help alleviate her problem and enable her to go to school. It would be great for her to be with her friends, but I can understand the hesitancy with all the germs that she could get. God bless you in all you do with her. Love Chris

Oh I'm just being a gram, but I am glad of this suction pump. It is a wonder she hasn't choked to death before. She likes me to tap her back, when I get through with the breathing treatment. I told Ashley, when I had pneumonia it felt good to me. Ashley would do therapy on me with the cup of her hand, but we have a small tool made for this, I tap Avery with. It helps loosen in the lungs and does help you feel better. She is growing so tall.

Gram surely did make the bib, design FREE from Sew Forum-tucson font- I need to make her some new ones, but I have been out of snaps, need to re-stock. Carolyn she is always happy. She does get fussy once in a while, but its usually when she has heartburn/reflux and can't belch. She is everybodys sweetheart, here at home and school. Teachers I don't even know, know Avery, and speak to her in the mornings. I thought that was nice because they probally don't know I am her gram.

I hope the suction pump will make a big difference for her. Hopefully it will help ease her rattle in the breathing and she will be able to breath much easier. She looks so cute in her pj's. The bib is a perfect match.
Hugs, Mary

The breathing treatments help open the airway ,the meds help loosen it up. If she can cough we can suction it and maybe she'll clear up soon. I just got her to bed, takes about 2 hours to do everything. I won't be far behind her. I'm pretty whipped tonight.

Avery is a very special Cutie. I am so grateful you share her with us. She is adorable in her PJs. Yea for the doctor listening and finally getting the medical equipment she needs. I hope Respite care helps out soon so you all can get some rest.

I'm glad you enjoy seeing her growing up,Karen. Avery sleeps well at night, but mom is sick herself with allergies so I told her to leave her here tonight . She would have had to pack everything home tonight and pack everything back in the morning. Easier on all of us just to keep her here .

If she is home all the time she will miss out on a bit of social interaction. Is there a way to do school over the internet?

She could have home schooling and she has a active social life. We have never kept her out of the public .It is just that at school she is not only expose to kids that have colds and such but she has to get out in the weather, cold, rain ,etc. and she is vulnerable .

Wow she looks like she has really grown. I have been known to stay in my P.J's the whole day at times. This is just a suggestion but maybe the next time her momma talks to the doctor she could ask about a probiotic to boost her immune system. I started taking one a few years back and it sure helped me not catch so many things. I know she has different health issues but thought I would mention it just in case. Hope she gets better soon so she can go be a social girl again. Lovely child.

Isn't she the little fashionista in her cute orange pjs and matching chevron bib!!! Avery is so lucky to be able to spend time with you-and vice versa- just wish it wasn't because of health concerns. Would it help prevent catching bugs, colds, etc. if she wore one of those face masks? Maybe you could make her some cute ones, with her help and for the other girls at school too , to encourage Avery to wear one??

It's Monday, and I kept her today. The pump sure helped her today. I had to text her mom and tell her how proud I was of Avery for coughing so well. When I told Avery "Grams so proud of you ! Good Job!" she just laughed.
