OK, cuties, Jim is going to use me as a guinea pig tonight....will let you know how it goes........he read that if you put vicks vaborub on the bottom of your feet that it will stop a cough for hours........claims are that it work 100% of the time.....so will let you know if it works for me...also my leg pain kept me up last night, I can't get over how I can't stand fabric of any kind on the skin where the leg pain is......the skin is so hypersensitive it feels like a rug burn if cloth or anything glides over it, yet it is numb under the skin......WHAT????? Can't wait to get this figured out!!! love to all and all your projects are amazing......still giving out flowers when I can......

I was advised by my doctor to rub Nicks on the soles of my babies feet and under their arms 40 years ago . Was good then ,only difference was to halve the strength with a mix of Vaseline . Hope it works for you .

Yep, that's the treatment for stopping coughing - colds or 'flu' symptoms. Been used here in Australia for years. Good luck Vicki, hope you have more restful sleep. I'd recommend getting a sheet and blanket lift support. I've put in a webpage for the things I mean. Have a look on Google and there are quite a few. I'm not sure where you live in USA, but there is a company in Oshkosh, Wi (is that Wisconsin?) called Miles Kimball. Love Chris

Thanks, Chris, that is only a few hours north of me, too. It is good to know there is something to help the sensitivity if this continues......am hoping to find the source and get rid of it totally!!

My neighbor swears that vics vaporub works! I sure hope it does for you as well. Take Care!
Still working on the leather jacket for Taco, I just can't see myself cutting into the old leather jacket I found at Value Village... :(

I have heard this so many times but never knew anyone who actually tried it. Hope to hear it worked for you. You can't get any rest if you are coughing all night.

I've read that pineapple juice is good for a cough too, and supposed to be more effective that cough syrup, it's worth a try if you have some. hope you feel better soon!

My sweet MIL ate a "piece" of it when she had a cold - NOT an approved use of the product, nor a proven use. UGH!

I had a co-worker who swore by a mix of honey, lemon juice and whisky. I asked him did it work for him. He said, no but after a while, you don't care!

So much for the old remedies.

LOL...sometimes the old remedies are the best, at least they tend to have less side effects, right?

Miss Vicki, hope you have great luck with the Vicks...every time husband gets a cold it goes into his chest and it's the ONLY way I can get him to stop hacking long enough for me to get to sleep!
If you aren't on any meds...try a 'Hot Toddy, if you are running a fever with the cold this is break it and you might have to get up change cloths and bedding but I know this works also. It's doesn't taste the best but I know this works also.

Can't wait to hear if it works. For your sake I do hope so. Have you had Chickenpox and if did you get vaccinated against shingles?

I hope they figure it out soon. It is so debilitating to feel constant pain.

It is an old family tale that my mom used on us. She put our socks in the oven to warm, put the vicks on our feet and promptly put the socks on afterwards and to bed we went. Of course, just the massaging of the feet was relaxing enough to put us to sleep. No coughs .....

I've heard of using Vicks to prevent snoring. I tried it but I don't know if it worked because I was asleep and couldn't hear myself. :)

Oh no, have they checked you for shingles, If you have already had chickenpox's then it may be shingles. My grandmother got them and it hurt for her to have clothes touch her skin. I hope you feel better soon.
