I know what you mean. I went by the Babylock Dealer and a Bernina dealer. She said, "It's only $10,000 and you can get take it home today."Like I have it sitting in a cookie jar!!

For the intro offer = that includes a bunch of extra stuff (threads, software, Anita Gooddesign special, 3 yr maint) - my dealer has the new machine for $14,999 US + tax.

I LOVE MY MACHINE. I LOVE MY MACHINE. I LOVE MY MACHINE.

As I am in the UK the offers are somewhat different but as I am not buying I am not looking closely at the offers. What amount is tax on the price please?

It is different state by state because you pay a State sales tax+whatever is added on by the county you live in. In Georgia the amount is: 4%, my county is 3% so the total is 7% sales tax for me.

That price could purchase a car! I'm not looking for one of those either. I love my sewing machine car; I love my car sewing machine...what ever!!!!

The revised cost $14,999 US is more than what I was quoted for both the Brother and the new Babylock Destiny which was $12000 (this is in Canada).

Wow, I could spend $4000 US dollars and visit Carolyn in England and buy a new machine for the same price as I could purchase one here!
If only I had that much money for a new machine......
