The people of Scotland have voted to remain. part of the UK so the Union Jack flag will continue to be. (I'm not sure if it was at risk, but it would look most odd without the blue bits!)

so glad they have decided to stay with us as I may have had to get a passport to go there next year. The silent war has been won by the people. Now perhaps those who wanted to change things will shut up and sneak away.

The numbers were quite close, so I suppose it won't really rest for a good while yet. It was interesting to hear the news report here comment that 'unity' was what kept things like they are. A bit more unity all around the world would be a great thing!

I'm glad to hear that you are all one nation. It would have been very difficult with regards to Parliament, currency, debt, oil etc. etc. Hopefully this will put an end to it for a while anyway. Love Chris

I'm glad the people made the choice to remain. Too bad the issue will be brought up all too soon.

I am pleased with the result and I am pretty sure that the Union Jack would have had to change. Thank you Sue for keeping us in touch with the news

This was quite the discussion in July when we were there...I was interested to see how it would all go...now we know!

I'm so glad to hear the UK will remain in tact, at least for now, and I hope the reasons so many Scots wanted to withdraw will be resolved. We have enough problems in our world. We identify so much with our friends in the UK, and do hope England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland will remain strong!

We've been following this closely here in the states. I hope the voices of the majority are respected and that this will end without any hurt feelings or retaliation.
