One of DH's golf friends is in hospital in an induced coma. First his kidneys failed and now his lungs. His wife was told yesterday that he has cancer of the lungs. Their two children are arriving on Sunday to see their dad for the last time. It will then be decided when to turn the machines off. It has all been such a terrible shock.

I'm so sorry. When something like this happens, especially to our friends, it brings closer to mind our own mortality. Prayers for all of you and for their family.

Sorry to the family and to your DH. It is not easy to say good bye to a friend. I hope they all can take their time to spend the last moments together and send out lots of strenght and prayers

So sad. I'm not usually one to go hunt up the blessing in everything, but what a blessing he did not have a long suffering time with the cancer, the agony of the diagnosis and saying good-bye to his family. Much harder on them perhaps, but merciful for him.

Dear Sarah, I am so sorry to hear of Klaus's friend. As Grace has said it's good that he hasn't had long to suffer. My prayers are being said for you all. God grant him rest and peace eternal. Love Chris

Thank you all for your kind words. It was decided yesterday to take Bruce off most of the machines. His passing could happen at any time. Again thank you.
