Lily's Dress and Cardigan Embellished
The embroidery part is so fast and easy--what takes the longest is to decide on a design (from my mountain high design stash).
When I buy clothes for Lily, I intentionally find the plain/solid items so I can embellish them. I just don't feel like making everything from scratch with the limited free time I have now.
The denim dress is from GAP. The bee could be a little higher. It looked a little too close to the center, and I added that curvy line with one of the quilting stitches on my sewing machine. That problem was solved.
The flowers seem a little too big for this dress. I could have gotten away with just one flower. I skipped printing out a template this time, which wasn't a good idea. But at least, the flowers are straight! I used basting stitch as a placement guide.
For the purple cardigan, I decided the lightweight fabric is not suitable for heavy embroidery, so I gave some decorative stitches on my SM a chance to be used for the first time. I used varigated 12 weight cotton thread. It might be hard to tell, but I programmed a repeated pattern of one butterfly and two hearts.
Hugs, Lidia
Well done.
