Found a new way to Vacuum pack a parcel. I had a few things I had made for DIL and Son for their new baby due soon. Had a 5 kg next day delivery bag but items were too bulky and 1 towel only weighed 400 grams. Couldn't buy the proper vac bags small enough to fit in so came up with the idea of a zip lock bag. It takes 2 people to do it but it works. Seal it almost completely up and use the crevice tool on your vac. Once the air is out remove the crevice tool while vac is still on and press the seal together.

I managed to get 2 big bath towels, 3 polar fleece bunny rugs, 1 cot quilt, 4 Bibs, 1 Hand towel and a childs Apron in. Bag full. With out the zip bags would have only got the 2 towels in.
Still working on how I can get my 5 Kgs in a bag I always seem to be paying for more postage than I send.

I have also done this...but you gotta work quickly to get that sucked bag into the parcel before it decides to "grow"..

Brilliant idea for shipping. You can also remove that last little bit of air left over if you slip a straw in the almost completely zipped bag and suck out the rest of the air.

Update the parcel arrived intact. Zip lock bags stayed shut. Now just have to train postman that if no one is home don't leave it on the door step for anyone to take.
