My experience with FSL is not to let them in water at all, I hold them under running water (tepid) until I feel the stabalizer is gone and then I lay them flat (sometimes between two sheets of paper towel if you need them to dry faster) until they are dry. A light iron (while still in the paper towels) can be great to make them nice and smooth.

How stiff or soft you desire your FSL project to be determines how long to rinse. A bookmark is better stiff so a quick rinse in a bowl of hot water will do the trick as only the excess stabilizer needs to be washed away. (I prefer to use hot water as it dissolves the stabilizer more quickly than cold and use a bowl because I am not on a sewer system so can discard the water outside.)

I like hot water, I just put it in the sink and spray it with the nozzle until I like it. Then I have a mesh type placemat that I lay them on to dry. Press them and your good to go. Hope this helps.

I think you have some great advice here.
My only concern is if you are making a lot of FSL designs consider using a bowl of water to do a quick rinse. The reason is that the wash away stabilizer can over time plug up the drain pipes, I have heard of many horror stories. Even on the TV show quilting Daily has mentioned this.

I put it in shallow warm water, and swish it around ,and when it doesn't feel gummy or gooey, I take it out, blot on a paper towel. and lay flat to dry. A great place is on the top of the toilet back! The porcelian seems to be a great surface.

After rinsing mine and pat dry with towel I place them on cooling racks for cookies and etc. They dry pretty quickly.
