Here is where I am at, Cuties, with this back issue....Yesterday I went to sift a litterbox and had a huge spasm across the low back......I am in panic mode by now because of my show coming up this weekend, so I ran up to drugstore and bought a back brace.....best money I have spent in a long time........it is giving stability to an area that can't seem to support itself right now.....this morning I had spasms across the should blades and it hurt to breathe, so I put the belt on and within an hour the spasms stopped, so guess what I will be wearing under my sweatshirt this weekend....yep, the back brace......my leg is still numb and I get those electric painful shocks just above the knee, but I am maneuvering better.....

Glad you found that part of the formula. Consider taking only tiny, lightweight sellables? My new thrust is bookmarks, kitchen towels, earrings, napkins. Much lighter than blouses, jackets, blankets.

Yes, I am so fortunate that Jim is so supportive....I help him with the BBshop chorus stuff and he helps me at the craft shows......however, I usually run circles around him, but this time he will have more on his plate than usual........

Vicki, I wish I could come help you.... There are some good over the counter creams that may give you some relief from nerve pain. Capsason (sp) helped me with shingles pain. Prayers for you <3

Hi Jan!! I have stuff from my massage therapist called Biofreeze......I have used it, but apparently this is not a muscular issue as it didn't help at all.......boo hoo!!

I HATE muscle spasms. I'm so sorry you have to experience them on top of the issues from the disk. Has the doctor put you on a muscle relaxant? They do help a lot.

Yes, Karen, I have Flexeril, but I can't function when I take them......even 1/2 knocks me out and I am so determined to try to have a normal life that I resist taking them....foolish, I know!

Have you tried 2 Alieve's? They are easier on the stomach than a Tylenol and last longer. Good luck on your show and hope you heal fast.

Oh dear, isn't it horrible to have pain where you can't reach it? Some hands-on massaging might help to relax those muscles. I know I sure miss my late DH's rubs, now that my RA keeps getting worse. Take it easy and yes, a rub with capsaicin in it might help.

Thanks, Jo, am trying all different kinds of things, and so far the back brace is working the best...will make sure I take the IB with me this weekend.....I do go once a month for myofascial therapy and once a month for massage therapy, guess that is what has kept me in check for so long, guess it was just a matter of time this all caught up with me...sigh!

As someone who has been dealing with this for 11 years now, I can SOOOO sympathize with you. Throw into your arsenal some of the pads that heat up when the inner capsule is broken and slip it underneath your brace.
Oh, and how about YOU help Jim instead of Jim helping you? (Motherly advice over.) Hugs!

I can use motherly, fatherly and any advice right now....I had a pharmacist (customer, yesterday) tell me to get that very product to put under the brace, was too exhausted to get any yesterday, will try to get some today or tomorrow.......

Vicki, I am in my 2nd yr with the back brace now and cannot function without it. I cannot vacuum, make beds , drive or do anything unless I have it on because of the pain. I am so thankful I have mine. I can only be on my feet for a little while even with the brace but I thank God I have mine. I am so glad you have found this to help you./Lillian

Yes, Lillian, I am so surprised that none of the docs I have seen have suggested it.....I am cleaning house this morning and yes, I am sporting the brace!!
