Any other cuties up in time to see the blood moon? I saw it for the first time........Have to say nature is so marvelous in what it can create.....my therapist yesterday, said he expected me to come in in a wheelchair after he looked at my MRI results.....besides my back being screwed up, my hips are rotated and raised on the right side, so he worked on getting the hips back in place to help support the spine.....I hAve 3 exercises to do as often as I can every day and I go back in a week to see him.....I got woken up this morning at 2:00 with the worst Charlie horse ever in my right calf (that is the good leg..not any more...LOL)so now when I walk it feels like a huge bruise in the muscle......EEEKKK....hopefully this is the last of what is going to crop up...am sure this is from the therapy work, he spent a whole hour on the hips....

oh, he also told me the skin sensitivity is called hyperthesia and it is definitely due to the nerve compression and I also have marked weakness in this leg.....I got more info from him than anyone else!!

It was clouded over here, so I didn't get to see the moon. There were only very small breaks in the clouds where the light burst through.
Therapist are wonderful folks and can help you lots! Drink lots of water and eat a banana a day for the Charlie horse, although he prefers oats. LOL

LOL...I will give it all the oats it wants to make it happy and not give me cramps.....I am a texture eater and I love the flavor of bananas, but can't stand the feel in my mouth...I know it is odd.....do they have a banana in pill form?? Seems like everything can be found in a pill now days!!

I set my clock so I could see the eclipse.... To mu dismay, it is so foggy here in Tennessee, that I could not even see the trees that are 70 feet from my house.... Thank goodness for the television... I hope you are feeling better.

Darn, I missed the blood moon. I'm glad you are seeing the therapist. We do mess up our bodies terribly when we can't walk right because of spine issues or other injuries. Now be a good girl; and make those exercises a priority. Therapy made a huge difference for me and my pain level.

I always keep a can of tonic water in the bedroom, kitchen and my car....just for those muscle cramps. It does have quinine in it so beware of that in case you can't take it. But it brings almost instant relief. Leg cramps can be excruciating!!

I was up to see the moon. The stars were also spectacular!

Keep up with the exercises. They will really help. Everyone who saw my MRI results always asked first how much pain I had in my back... The pain was not in my back, but my leg. Your therapist also can show you what to do to reduce the intensity of your leg cramps.

Thanks, Aunt Annie.......the only back pain I have had in all this episode is right after the 2nd epidural, that one caused low back pain, other than that, like you, it is all in the leg...
You are so right, the stars were shining so brightly at the same time......

Sounds like you got a lot to think about and some good information. Here's an oldie from my grandmother: My sister played basketball in junior high and would get charley horse or feet cramps really bad in the night. My gmother always said, eat something green - green beans or peas. Eating them two or three times in a week ended the waking up in pain for awhile. Of course, we don't know if it was chemical or the power of suggestion, but who cares - it worked! Blessings on your body!

I had to giggle at what Jerrilyn wrote. I did get to see the blood moon, although we had partly cloudy skies. I was in and out over the couple hours it took to complete the process and was surprised at the angles, because the sun was rising, How could it do that? You are in good hands with your leg and you will see improvement. A old wives tale is put a bar of soap in your bed, under your sheets and it will stop leg cramps. I did this for a while, because when you are in enough pain, you will try anything. Lol!

Hi Vicki, first of all I didn't get to see the Blood Moon it as it was raining and overcast here last night. Secondly, I hope that your Therapist can completely cure your problems. I've been having Achilles problems on my left leg and my Pysiotherapist has been wonderful in giving me loading exercises. They have helped so far. I've been drinking a glass of water every night before bedtime now for a couple of years and have never had cramps! I've copied a bit of an article from WaterCures.org which might be of help. Thanks for the information about the Hyperthesia - my Mum suffers from that all the time and I didn't know what is was all about. Love Chris

"Why Water Cures Leg Cramps

A more in-depth look will be considered on the causes of leg cramps in the future. When the cause is considered idiopathic, literature will say that the cause is unknown. At Water Cures, we disagree. We have found that muscle spasms or cramps in almost all cases are caused by chronic and unintentional dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.

The water cures leg cramps treatment and our conclusions are based on the commonalities and the differences in cramps caused by diseases, drugs or simply fluid and electrolyte imbalance.

More importantly, when you ask any of our visitors who have managed and even eliminated their leg cramps with the The Water Cures Protocol

Why it works? When the cells of our body do not have enough water, they either try to self protect or start to self destruct. When muscles, which are very dependent on fluid balance, do not have the right balance of electrolytes too, they are at greater risk of cramping.

Drinking a glass of water and dissolving a pinch of salt in our mouth will eliminate the pain for most. At night, drinking a glass of water before bed and then putting the salt in the mouth will prevent the cramps all night long."

one thought, I mostly only have one, but some medications can cause really bad body cramps, I don't know if you are taking any, I know some that you wouldn't think will, also look into natural herbs and such, good luck and read everything you can, hugs wish you were better Toni lee

I was driving home from my hand embroidery group, so expected to get a good view of the moon. No such luck! All I could see was grey cloud.. It was late at night here, so was looking forward to seeing it. DH saw the beginnings of it prior to the cloud cover coming in.
My mother's older brother drove my sister, his granddaughter and me all over the neighbour chasing the moon the first time I saw it. That was well over 40 years ago. I love that he made the viewing such a memorable time.
I use tonic water with quinine in it for severe leg cramps and I also take a Magnesium tablet. I cannot seem to survive without both.
Glad you found someone willing to share their knowledge.

Was too cloudy here to see the "blood moon".
Good physiotherapists are very skilful, aren't they? Hope you are soon on the mend.
