Has anyone seen this new breed of cat.....they are saying it is a spontaneous natural mutation and now, of course, it is being bred...I am afraid everytime us humans try to imitate nature......it sure looks like a werewolf though......

No in my travels with cats I have not seen this kind of cat. What make something so pretty into something weird? Hopefully it will be a nice sweet cat. Why mess with stuff like this anyway? Suzanne

Totally agree, Suzanne, there are too many kitties out there that need home, why do we have to mess with mother nature and try to produce this natural phenomena...

This is sort of scary looking, just in time for Halloween. Not a fan, I'll take the other regular little fir balls over this one any day. As the saying goes 'It's not nice to fool Mother Nature.' :-)

Definitely a different look. At least there's more fur than the ones with none.
But is this not what all animal breeders do? Whether cats, dogs,horses, cows, sheep, pigs, they are bred for certain characteristics. Temperament, size, strength, etc. Or looks. So many dog breeds evolved for certain jobs-not on their own.

Absolutely true, however if a breeder doesn't know what they are doing the result can be disastrous.......we had a sweet Scottish fold years ago and he developed disfiguring bone growths on his front legs and in researching this I found out this was a result of poor breeding...I had him on cosequin which seemed to help him a bit......so, I am not a fan of "designer breeds"..
I heartily agree that breeders need to be responsible. Wish we could stamp out puppy mills. I would never buy a dog from a pet store, either. Any dogs we've had have been the offspring of friends' animals. The cats have mostly walked into our lives.
Same here, I work closely with 2 local groups and provide them with things for their silent auctions....the one group is out by one of our local pet shops almost every Saturday with their puppy mill protest......gotta love it!!
