Can you clever Cuties tell me if I can take the USB plug out of my machine while the power is still on and not damage my machine further? I will need to load more designs later. Thank you

USB devices are "hot swap-able" meaning it should cause no issues to remove the device ***as long as it is not "busy" at the time*** meaning if you have closed everything then it should be OK but if there is a design open, then it could cause issues with the files.

Thank you 'R' - that is what I thought. I will sleep well tonight.
My Ruby loads the design from the stick and I can remove it immediately without damaging anything. My Melco has a warning up as long as it is reading the stick.
My far simpler Brother 190D, however, does not load a design but stitches directly from the card, so I can't remove that without the machine stopping embroidering and causing damage to the file on the card - don't ask me how I know.
