I bought 100 spools of Zikria Suleman from threadmill on Ebay a couple of weeks ago. I made a sampler on calico using quite a few of the colours, plain and verigated. Unfortunately, when I washed the sampler to test colour fastness, the colours ran. Very disappointing - regret buying the threads. If I wanted to return them from Australia to UK, the shipping would be very expensive unfortunately and do not have faith that the shipping would be refunded.

I am so sorry you made this disappointing purchase. I had never heard of this thread before. But a big warm welcome to the Cute family

You are right about those shipping costs. Seldom is shipping reimbursed. I almost exclusively use polyester thread on items to be washed for this reason. Polyester is very color fast and even will hold up against chlorine bleach.

Sorry to hear this. Lucky you made a sample to try it out. Do you think it could be possibl that the colors in the calico ran? Why don't you try a few rows on a plain white or muslin scrap & use cool water & see what happens. If the thread is the problem I would sure contaact E Bay and see how they can help you out. Good luck.

One time, a long time ago, I had red fabric run on my cream color fabric in a quilt. I was devastated... I washed it again with white vinegar. The red came out!! completely!!! Now, I always prewash anything that might run with some white vinegar. HTH and that your thread problem can be fixed too. ***4all***

That's a good tip to know. thanks for telling us about the white vinegar. Did you use the vinegar straight or was it diluted? *to you.

Oh, so sorry about your thread running....I'm just glad it wasn't your finished project.
I'm pretty sure that shipping isn't covered in returns. Like the others say, though you may have some recourse through EBay.
Welcome to Cute Embroidery, I'm glad you are here.

How incredibly disappointing for you. I would first write to the company to tell them what has happened. What a blessing it was a trial run. Welcome to Cute. Sarah (South Africa)

All you need to do is to make a claim through ebay and BOTH your cost & shipping will be refunded. Sellers usually work very hard to satisfy a customer so that they do not get less than a 5 star rating so first try to work something out with the seller and if not satisfied then open a case to get reimbursed. I would also suggest trying a couple of the ideas here to see if maybe you can get the thread to hold its color with a white vinegar rinse. Good Luck! Just be reassured that you can get all money back if that is what you wish.

Welcome to Cute...I, too would contact the seller first, then file a claim through E-bay or PayPal of you paid via them...unfortunately, unless you can make amends with the seller...shipping is not usually included in a refund...good luck and keep us posted..

Some threads I bought on Ebay a hundred years ago run too. I didn't think that poly thread would run, but it did. I have wrapped those threads in Amazing Tape. The color transfers to the tape as well. I've not had any other poly thread run color.

Contact the seller. It could be a bad batch. Yes try for a refund through Paypal. If the seller is reputable they might refund all your costs and just say bin it all.
I would also send a picture to them showing what the problem is.
