Hi Cuties: I just got my GD memory quilt back from the quilt shop. I still have to put a binding around the outer edge, but wanted to show you the almost end results. Its 60"x104" so I had to stand on a stool to get it all in the picture. It is the same size on the top and bottom, just looks narrower because of how I took the picture. I am so please with how the quilter finished it for me.

Thanks Carolyn. I won't be doing much for the next few months as I found out yesterday, that I have to move. The owner of the place I am living in needs to move back in, so I have to find a new place, pack and move. Just not good timing. I knew it was coming, but thought it would be next Spring. Oh well, get it over and done with.

Oh! Jerri, Karlie is going to be so proud of this, as you should be! You have done an excellent job and the binding will be the icing on the cake! Are you going to put the darker colour on as the binding? That would really make it stand out and also having the darker colour on the edge is good as it doesn't show the grime as much! Love Chris

P.S. So sorry to read that you have to relocate - have you somewhere in mind? Love Chris

Thank you Chris. I am putting the dark blue around as the binding. It will only be a small binding as the quilt is large enough. I wouldn't do this type of quilt with just big borders, but this is my first and my own idea. Lots of lessons learned.
I am hoping to find a place in the same area I am in now as everything I need is close by. Not driving anymore, so I need to be in an area that I can get to easily for things.
Hugs Jerri

Very special. I like the shadowbox styling. When will you give it to her?

by jerrib 24 Oct 2014
Thank you, I really liked the shadowbox as well. Make it look like a picture frame.
I am not sure when I will give it to her. I am in Canada and she is in the States, only about 2 hrs away. I may go down on your Thanksgiving...time will tell.

Thank you. It is my first quilt of this size and type. I have made lots of crib size baby quilts, but nothing this big. I made up the design myself of the quilt, and the bag. Had a little help with the labels.

Thanks for clarifying this, I was/am totally daunted by your abilities. :-)
