Sometimes you get something for nothing. I got these hurricane lamps off a craigslist ad and they are wonderful. Big, breakable and have to be stored somewhere until the wedding, and they need really great decorations. I am going to keep one and decorate it for each holiday. I got over a dozen with 10 bases. I was so happy when Alyssia said good for the wedding! Whoo Hoo!

Wonderfu! I know there are many ways to decorate these. Enjoy them, the wedding preparations and then the wedding itself.

Start looking for cheap wreaths slightly larger than the hurricane. Holly at Christmas, sprayed white and silver for New Years, nest of eggs at Easter, shamrocks popping out of green Easter grass on pipestems for St. Patrick's Day, little flags for patriotic days, balloons for birthday, candlesand a fresh flower for anniversary Just brainstorming.

I looked it up and only saw the fancy lamps and not the creative down to the thin piece of glass that I have here.

Not into these, but love old oil lamps. Have 17 that are over a hundred years old. And several are brass. Love old brass. This is a super find and can be decorated great for a wedding or anything else.

I too love old oil lamps. I had on as a teen and unfortunately lost in on the way. I wonder if there are LED's(light emitting diode) in that style. I am into LED now due to fire hazards.

Yes I think that would be convenient. I am leaving one out on the kitchen table. It has a bow in the bottom for decoration.
