EASY MAKE GIFT BOX'S

I thought you just may like to see how easy it is to make some very pretty gift box's. These can be made for any occasion and a name tag put on for place settings. They are inexpencive to make and would also be good to sell to raise funds for charity. or simply make some instructions for them and sell that for a small amount.
What do you need. 1 card that when opened makes an oblong.
A rule and a pen and something to make a crease.
some fabric or pretty wrapping paper and some PVA glue and a spatula. A bodkin and some thin ribbon or cord
1- open the card and mark the center of the two sides. See the diagram.
2- Score along these lines and then fold towards the center.
3- fold along the creases and then bring up A to B fold sides in to form the sides of the box
Thread the bodkin with thin ribbon or cord and push it through the four thick card at the center of the top. Again see the photo.
The box is now complete.
How you decorate it is now up to you but i spread a very thin coating of PVA glue onto the front of the card and almost scrape it all of with the spatula as i do not want it bleeding through the fabric. i then lay the card down glue side down onto the back of the fabric and press down. turn it over and make sure there are no air pockets.Next once sure it has stuck firmly to the card you can trim around the edges of the card.
Fold as above and insert ribbon through the hole made by the bodkin. you could use a paper punch to make a hole if you have one.
Cover with pretty paper as above if you wish . now simply add any extra decorations that you desire.
fill with choccies or fudge or a small gift.
These box's can be made any size as long as you start with that oblong shape.
Tiny ones can hang on the tree and could hold some small trinket.
enjoy. annie

Used to make those from greeting cards, especially the flower ones. Never thought of using fabric, it gives a totally different look. Thanks for your idea!
