I don't know if any Cute's are in the south Buffalo area. Some places there have six feet, yes 6' of snow on the ground and it is still snowing. It is going to snow there for the next two days. They have called in the National Guard to help rescue the stranded drivers. I pray everyone will be safe. I am in Canada 40 miles from Buffalo and we don't have any snow.

Serious weather they are having. My prayers are with them all, especially the homeless.

Tes the homeless for sure. Also the ones that rely on meals on wheels, because the delivery people can't drive on the roads.

So worried about my son who is stationed at Fort Drum but lives and has to drive back and forth from Llions to the base everyday. It's a 2 hour drive one way in the morning and again in the evening.

Fort Drum/Watertown region gets a lot of lake effect snows-Tug Hill is always bad if there is even a little snow predicted-not sure what it like from Drum to Lyons Falls though

oh you ladies brought back memories! I used to live in Glenfield not far from Lyons Falls still in that Tug Hill snow belt. One Christmas we got 33 inches of snow overnight on Christmas eve! I was so afraid we wouldn't be able to make it home (Plattsburgh area) to see my family that year! We got a late start but made it! Took awhile to unbury the car! Man, we really had lots and lots of snow when we lived there!

There was a story on the news here in Australia of an expectant mother over that way somewhere being taken to hospital on a tractor to have her baby because of the snow :)

Now the concern is the warm temps and all the melting-it was in the mid 60's today. Do you mean 640 miles from Buffalo? No way it's 40 miles????

oh jeepers-forgot about Niagara Falls, Canada-you around that area?
by designgirl 25 Nov 2014
I am in the Niagara area and we are roughly 40 to 50 miles from Buffalo. We are 15 miles from the famous Niagara Falls. Buffalo gets lake effect snow coming off Lake Erie and we live on the south western part of Lake Ontario. We very seldom get a snow storm, people that live in this area call it the banana belt of Ontario. We have not a snowflake on the ground at all.

We haven't gotten much here either....yet lol. That's fine be me though. We don't get the lake effects here either-we're on the St. Lawrence River- kinda protected by the Adirondacks in the valley. Today it was extremely windy with temps in the high 60's (F) but it is supposed to drop back down to cool temps.by Thanksgiving-another storm system is in the works according to the weather forecasters.
