Beautiful design and work. My applique never suits me. Problem with the cutting. And I love the open embroidery anyhow.

I like this design period! Does it fit a 5x7 hoop? If so where did you find it?
When I first looked at it, I was drawn to the applique... :)

Without fabric definitely. Aren't we all full of opinions, and all different! Give one to your friend that likes applique and the other to the friend who likes stitching!

Few ducks at my pond this year. I think because it waited late and got suddenly sooo cold, they pressed onward without lingering.

WOW what a choice... they are both lovely and I do love applique... If I had seen both and was told now you have to do one also.. I would make a combination. applique the leaves and have the un-appl on the bells. Always enjoy your posts..BTW like the towels you have them on also..

Oh Carolyn, both are lovely! I'm a tad partial to the embroidery version as I love the simplicity of it. That said - both are wonderful gifts.

I like them both, but am probably too lazy to fiddle with applique version. I might have to get one of those fancy large hoops so I can do this too!

Love them both with applique you can be selective to more colorful options right down to shinny stuff. Just embroidery is simple has it's beauty as more lace tone. I am surprised you did not have one with variegated thread.

Good morning Carolyn, well I'm a lover of applique as you know, but in this instance I feel the lightness and simplicity of the plainer design stands out more. Anyhow, both look fabulous - you rock girl! Love Chris

Expertly done. Prefer the applique set but both are beautiful. I think the designs are from the Anita Goodesign line - Christmas Cutwork. Great idea to use in another way!
