It's a stinker here today and Trev and I are off to my best friend's mum's funeral down in Sydney. It will take nearly 2 hours to get down there. I feel sorry for Pauline out at Penrith it will get over 40C - firefighters are on alert.

I've just been reading the daily paper and see northern New York has had 1.68metres of snow! What a world of diverse weather patterns!

It's only 9.00am here in Newcastle Friday morning and it's already 28C - not looking forward to the heat today. Love Chris

Now that is H O T.....bless you Pauline! Stay inside and hydrated. I'm sorry for your friends loss. I know you will be a blessing to her today.
I have seen the now pictures, too. There was a front door opened toward the inside of the house and the snow was only a few inches from the top. Yikes~

Thanks Jerrilyn, I've known Sue for over 31 years. We met at Church down in Melbourne where my daughters and her last son and last daughter were born. Amy and her James were due the same day, bu James arrived early and Amy arrived late!!!! We've been through a lot together, but this year has been a particularly hard one for her. She is a great animal lover and has had dogs forever! She lost 2 Newfoundlands this year in Barney and Sophie, then her "heart" dog Maddie (a beautiful black Sharpei) and her Father in January and a cousin from England and now her Mother. My heart aches for her so much. I know I'm going to be doing a lot of crying this afternoon. Losing a parent is always heartwrenching. Thanks for your kind words, love Chris

Isn't Australia marvellous Shirley? I can't believe you are sitting in front of a heater only about 1760 kilometres away! I know New South Wales is in heatwave conditions today and I really feel for the firemen. The wind is a hot northerly and the house is already WARM! At least we'll be driving down in air conditioned comfort and the Crematorium will be air conditioned too. We should be home later this evening by which time I hope it's cooled down I don't like sleeping in the heat! On the other hand I hope you can keep warm down in Tassie, what part are you from? Love Chris

We are in the North of the State. A little settlement called Weegena. If you blink when driving through you would miss it. lol Glad you have a air conditioned car. We get cold southerly winds here. Hope you get some sleep tonight.

You are in the hot area. We are in the cold. Yes Buffalo New York has snow and lots of it. In some areas along the Lake Erie lakeshore they have seven feet on the ground. Yes 7 feet and expecting 2 more feet tonight. It is the most snow on record. We live 40 miles from there and we maybe have 6" on the ground. People are shovelling their roofs off because of the wieght of the snow will collapse the house. Ten people have died in shovelling and accidents. The pictures are just almost unreal. They are to get rain on Sunday which will create flooding with all that melting snow. Please put these people in your prays. They need all the help they can get. Hugs Lynn

Take care when you are out in the heat. Try and stay cool. Praying it will cool down soon. Thinking of you. Hugs Lynn

There was a photo of it ,in todays herald. At first glance it looked like rows of white caravans, not houses in a street.
When all this snow eventually melts, where does it go?Does it cause floods?
by noah 21 Nov 2014
no the ground takes it in and into the lakes and rivers here

Thanks Lynn, I've kept cool, have turned off the air conditioner and still have the fan on and it's now 11.30pm. Wasn't it an amazing picture in The Sydney Telegraph, Judy? I mentioned it in my original post. Love Chris

No Kim, Sue is my best friend - it was her mother who died. I'll reword it - the mother of my best friend was buried today. Doreen was 89 and her husband died in January this year too! Sue's lost both parents, 3 dogs and a cousin in England she certainly has had a lot of tragedy this year. Love Chris

Hope there are no hold ups on the F3 ,we always wonder if we will get to our destination on time when travelling to Sydney .
By 11 am it was 37C when I came home from the vets with Gandalf lying in his crate complaining loudly about his yearly visit.Yesterday he did his disappearing act ,so he didn't get to the vets ,it was a lot cooler then.At noon it was 40C & 3 loads of washing was dried .A woolen blanket took just over 1hr to dry.
A similar forecast for tomorrow.Market in the morning & then a wedding.

That's our hottest months too! It's just been unusually weird at the moment! Another hot weekend on the way and we are babysitting Dana and Jason's 3 children tomorrow from 11.00 till about 7.00! I think I might have a dip in their gorgeous swimming pool. A relaxing day on Sunday after church I hope! Love Chris
