For those of you that are wondering how things went with me making the new neighbours baby a welcome gift. It went very well indeed. I took the sleep bag around to her yesterday and she was over the moon with it as no one had ever made anything special for her before.
I told her that if the little one grew too long for it but it still fitted the top then to let me have it back and i would put on an extra length for her .
Now I know that the baby will be nice and snug and warm.
I used Minky on the outside and lined it with polar fleece and then quilted it so that little pockets of air are trapped so keeping him extra warm.
the hand section has turn back pieces so that his hands are kept warm but a section can be folded back so he can use his hands as he gets a bit older.
The young mother is very happy for me to make things for the baby, but i will not go over the top with things.
here for you to see are the photos of the sleep bag.
You may notice that i have placed the neck tab on the inside and the reason is that i did not want the top of the zip to scratch his skin. one can never be too careful these days.
Thank you all for your encouragement .

I felt in my heart all would be right if you went ahead and made something for the baby. I am guessing there are 2 houses in your street that have smiling women in them. Your neighbour and you.
Almost forgot to say thanks for the update I have been checking to see what you decided.
