UFO, this has been in a closet for over 2 years, I wanted to machine quilt it myself, but couldn't decide how to due to it. I finally decided to take it to a long-arm quilter and get it done. Yes I am very happy to have it up on the wall for Christmas, but as you guessed , the red fabric ran in some areas, I rewashed it ,soaked it in resolve but yikes is all I can say. Live and learn.

It was machine appliqued (turned like hand applique ) then with an invisible stitch sewn on . There is some machine embroidery on Mrs. Clause and the reindeer's hat. There is no pattern for this quilt , the applique design is from Art to Heart (Peppermint and Holly Berries) and the blocks from some quilt book I have. Thanks for looking!

I had a quilt that the red fabric ran on my cream muslin... I was SICK seeing that.... I re-washed it in some white vinegar, the red came out! I was so happy... Try it, It might solve your problem. Nowadays, I wash all my quilts that have red fabric with a little white vinegar added in the wash cycle. Hope it helps!! ***4all***

How stunning and such a vibrant quilt. I always wash any red fabric prior to using it, just in case. Love Chris

Very beautiful work. Try to wash with white vinegar or with special product against "décoloration".(I do'nt know the english word : when a color run over an other). Thank you for sharing. Amitiés de France.
