Bought this little pencil case for about equivalent to one US dollar this morning. It has a shiny surface and plastic inside. What are my chances of embroidering a name on it? I cannot undo a seam as they are all bound. I think tearaway in the hoop and then some spray adhesive? If it is a success would love to embroider some more.
Really do not know whether to laugh or cry. The embroidery as you see was perfect. I was just finishing it all off - went to close the zip and it broke. I cannot fix it but I now know I can embroider on a ready made pencil case. I have taped out part of the surname for obvious reasons

Hi Sarah, I can't see why you couldn't embroider something small so long as you are able to hold the other side away from the needle area. I would use either sticky back or a heavy tearaway stabilizer.. Good luck show us your finished master piece.. Marian

How the heck did you embroider this without opening up the seams? What size hoop did you use etc.etc.etc? Love Chris

I would love to say Chris 'because I am clever'. The ends have boxed ends - like a gusset. I turned it inside out and used spray adhesive and used my 4x4 hoop. I literately sat on top of my machine and watched every stitch at the same time keeping the excess material out of the way. I am delighted with the result. I am going to try and look for a better made pencil case. The case was from one of our very cheap chain stores and as always you get what you pay for. The ITH pencil cases for the 5x7 are not really long enough. I thought they would be wonderful stocking fillers.
