I 'think', but obviously not supposed to know, that I am receiving an i pad from DH at Christmas. My stepson works for Apple and is coming to visit for Christmas.........
My question is :- how much can I do with embroidery programs on an i pad?

Great question..... I just got a Tab and I do know I can't have my Embird program on two computers or devices so I wait for the answers!!!

You can put Embird on two computers...no problem...
You can have it on 2 devices. They just ask you not to have it open and in use on 2 devices at the same time.
I also have it on two - I only use my laptop when I'm away from home.

Hi Sarah, I know you can definitely use Wilcom Truesizer on an iPad.
" TrueSizer Web Free - Get TrueSizer Web - Now you can access embroidery files on the go! Use your PC, Mac, iPad or Android device to view, resize and convert embroidery files. Take advantage of Wilcom’s unique all-in-one .EMB format."

First thing! download/install 'Dropbox' on the ipad and your computer also. You can d/l designs to Dropbox and it syncs with PC and sends the designs there so you can work them in your progras. Another install that is free, is ''Stitchbuddy". You can first save design there and view the image, size, stitches, thread changes--then move to Dropbox for syncing with PC. No, I don't think it can handle Embird, or other such...but there are quite a few stitch programs you can use. And check into Buzztools--it might be compatible (it is with Android). Congrats--you will love the ipad!

Good for you! I am still avoiding the cell phone. I think I would like a tablet more.

I am working in my iPad now. I use dropbox to download designs and that's about it as far as embroidery goes. I had a look at the suggested Wilcom Truesizer , but stopped halfway through the log-in procedure when a company name was required. I might have a look at Buzztools later.
