Just had to do one by hand.

If the church fair was not already on the 13th I'd organise a workshop, the come together quickly enough.

It's lovely! I actually like the hand done one the best. But my days of hand work are gone for good. So am thankful for our wonderful machines! You did a great job on the spacing, etc!! Love the berries. They look like red beads, am I correct?

Actually the bead are silvery, but I used red thread to sew them on. I was amazed I got the spacing right without any marking, guess I haven't lost my touch completely after all the machine embroidery I did.

Beautiful. I guess you can not watch TV without having some needle work in your hands.

I did not use a thought out design, I just cut three leaves put them down, used a perforator to get 5 berries, arranged them on the heart and sewed them down.

Thanks. I made a PDF file with pattern today and will let my granddaughters try it out - if I can get them to do that.

That's so pretty! I know, sometimes I just have to have my hands on my work.

Thank you. It's allright to use the mouse to digitise and the machine to stitch it out for you, but i want to feel the material and make the stitches myself now and again. Makes me feel creative and connected to my grandmothers.
by jrob 08 Dec 2014
Yes, and there's just something about the tactile feel while stitching, so very comforting.

Well, I must admit...not much actually beats the handwork designs...I do love both arts...but sometimes "hand" made is the best!

Thank you.
I made a number of do-it-yourself packets and while I cut mine free hand for the packets, would you believe it, I made the pattern - line drawing - in Embird.

All are super nice but the handmade one is truly the standout of the group! I like sewing wee little felt mascots and stuffies. Beautiful!
