I have a question I hope I can get an answer too. When you sew ITH sucker tops how much room do you leave between each one?

I could only get 6, not 8 comfortably on my 7x12 hoop. I looked under the magnification screen and saw about a double width of the outer satin stitch in between. I was looking for enough space to trim off the felt outside the satin stitch and not have the satin stitch be the final outer edge of each design. I had plenty of room around the grouping but was afraid to put more because of the satin stitch and I'm an amateur. Hope someone can help more precisely! Enjoy!

when I combine more designs I usuallu leave 1/4 to 3/8 inch between FSL and about half an inch between ITH designs, like fingerpuppets (never did sucker tops) just enough to be able to cut out without too much trouble.
