I like this and could see it being a quick quilt.

I think this is a more difficult block to do because you are working with bias edges that are hard to control. It is good that you do test blocks before deciding. I usually skip testing and I could benefit from doing tests first like you do. Those fabrics are a good match!

Thanks for showing this one Carolyn, you have solved a question the girls in my family have had for a long time, my mother (who has passed away) made a quilt with this block and would not tell us how she did it, she tormented us girls with it :) until know we couldn`t work it out, I think I will make a lap quilt using this method and hen show my sisters, they will be amazed,..... do you think I should tell them how to do them or torment them like mum ? hehehe

This is pretty neat too & now your giving me ideas! You could put an embroidery design in the middle block. ~hugs~
