Hi Marge, and welcome to Cute! The version of pes depends on the make and model , or year the machine was manufactured. The oldest machines used version 1. Version 4 is most used and the newest machines use version 9 and I believe any of the older version. Folks had the most trouble with version 6. I am sure there will be knowledgeable people commenting soon! I really enjoyed giving you your first flower!

Welcome to the Cute family. cfdl has given you correct info. If you have newer machines and software you can DL any version and be OK. If your machines and software are older, go with version 6 or less.
