Cuties, I need your help. I am looking for exactly the swallowblock in the picture. Did somebody know this block, I need the pattern to make a wallhanging for my Mum, which loves swallows. She had a lot of swallows around her house.

I don't know know where this pattern came from, but if you google paper pieced swallows quilting pattern, a similar picture comes up.

I drew something similar in Embird Studio. You can easily draw it on inch graph paper. If you make it 12" square (as I did here) there are a few points on 1/2" and 1/4" lines denoted by the light blue lines.

Here is link to one almost identical to what you are looking for and if you look down the page a bit she gives the free pattern for the block, which I think you could modify the center very easily to make it just like what you want.

Now this looks the easiest. Paper piecing gives such crisp corners, and since the bird is on the diagonal, this would be great. The other parts are just regular squares and triangles. I have book marked it for myself!

Thank you, but I have only the picture not the quilt and the picture will be plurry if I will make it bigger. Martine helps me with her drawing. May be the free software I found this morning can help me too:
