I made several of these European pillowslips in a soft cotton fabric, with names on the front for Xmas presents. These pillowslips are expensive & hard to get here.A long discussion followed on how each person didn't like others using their pillows .I thought it was
only me because my husband screws them up & I want mine flat.

Very pretty and quite practical for your group! Love the way it gathers in around the oval.

Your pillow slips are very pretty. One of the first things I embroidered when I got my machine was "His" and "Hers" on all the pillow cases. Just like you, I want my own pillow ;-) You really did a nice job making your own pillow slips too!

Separate pillows and cases a must around here. All our pillows are marked with our names as well as the cases for less confusion :)
Your name embroidery is very classy :)

Looks like Egyptian cotton & quite lovely with the monogram. I agree I like to have my own pillow & case because I like it firm & hubs likes his soft. ~hugs~

We have 'separate' pillowslips - so much so that they are different colours.
My husband has suffered from night sweats for many years and I was not a happy chappie when he stained my nice new pillow. :-(
I now buy/make different coloured pillowslips for him and me.
I did try embroidering on them to identify whose pillowslip is whose and he still cannot tell the difference. That was my only attempt at using the same design so that the pillows matched and they look cute on the bed. But he cannot understand how to work out which is his pillowslip. So I stick to pretty or bright colours for me and blue or green for him. Makes the bed colourful.
When they are embroidered, I do the embroidery on the edges or corners and I have "pretty" designs. I have only ever done a set with the same design - never again.

I don't know what my husband does, but his pillows have pillow protectors & 2 pillowslip on them, & he still manages to stain the pillows original covering .Luckily they go in the washing machine .

Are European pillowslips different than a pillowcase ? I make a lot of pillowcases, having a different color/pattern for the cuff, which I sometimes embroider. Those in the store are overpriced, I agree, and I have bought flat sheets to use for making some.

European pillows are about 60 cm square.
Interesting. It does not look square in the picture.
Still, the cases should be cheaper to make than buy.

Looks grea! I like my own pillow - hate it when he used to end up with mine after changing the bedding! Had to figure out somehing to make sure I had mine! He doesn't care which pillow he gets, says a pillow is a pillow!
