well since I made the first hat & messed it up I decided I must try it again to see if I can get it right this time. I took an old fleece vest that I no longer wear & tried it with that! I have success.........this time I remembered to do the ties & the tassel on top & a perfect fit too! I am really pleased to make this with out a pattern. It would be so much cuter with a little embroidery on it sigh...........but maybe it won't be that hard to put one on when I get my machine back? I just realized that I put the hat on my teddy bear backwards lol the seam goes @ the back .

Its cute regardless of being backwards. I would not have noticed. I am sure if I like this more or the one without the ties. Both are darling. Keep the other for the days that are not that cold. Great job - no pattern - WOW!

I can't type. What I meant to say was that I was not sure which I liked more. I think both are great.
ah thanks Wendy. I will keep them both but for now the brown matches the freezing temps out today lol. Maybe your right the other when it is not near so cold. ~hugs~

yes I remembered to add the ties & I did braid them to give it a bit more of a girly look to it. Thanks Toogie. It was fun to do.

Love it and the ties look great. I still think you could add small extenders with velcro or snaps to the original hat.
