Christie and I did this one. 2 layers wool felt for each side. and a small applique area. The lace is store bought, however I think it is just so perfect. I think in the future I would look for FSL.

Looks great with this lace, I wouldn´t make a FSL, it is a lot of work and with this type lace it looks beautiful too.

Just the top lace. not the entire piece

The lace at the top is perfect for this sock. Don't see lace anywhere else. I sometimes put fsl on fabric. Once the stabilizer is taken out, the fsl is soft and easy to work with.
